Text Workbench

There are situations when you may need to replace portions of text from multiple text files. In this situation, you will need to open each text file separately and look for the desired piece of text, which can take a lot of time and effort. The sames goes when wanting to search for a text string inside multiple files.

Fortunately, there is an application which can help you and it's called Text Workbench. This Windows program allows you to easily replace portions of text with others and also look for certain words or phrases into multiple files at the same time, helping you save a lot of effort.

After the program has been installed and launched, the user first needs to select the folder which contains the desired files. After completing this step, the next thing to do is to add the original and replaced text or just the original text, in case one just wishes to search into files and not replace portions of text. Optionally, the user can configure Text Workbench to look only for certain files and can also add regular expressions, to make the search process more efficient and accurate.

After all these settings have been configured, the search or replace process can begin. In a very short time, all the files which correspond to the criteria configured by the user will have their text automatically replaced. What's more, Text Workbench can also collect found portions of text and store them inside an ANSI, Unicode or UTF-8 file, for later usage.
